“The Creative Controller”
“Controlled creativity” is one of the culinary mantras of Chef Daniel Vasse who has forged a very successful career in Puerto Rico since he first came to the enchanted island in 1982. Vasse honed his artistic culinary skills in France where he mastered traditional and classic French cuisine, and added his personal touch of “fusion” when he opened his first restaurant in Humacao, Puerto Rico aptly named Chez Daniel. The success and recognition of his restaurant located in the luxurious area of Palmas Del Mar eventually lead Vasse to launch other successful restaurants such as Tapas Bar de Chez Daniel in 2004, Bistro Rico in 2007 (both also in Palms Del Mar), and Bistro Tartine in Caguas in 2008. Vasse has been influential in his community and likes to give back when he can, as evidenced by the proceeds of his book “La Buena Vida” going to the construction of Palmas Academy school.
